Day 153 #Project365

153-365 coin snake

Today was a Spiky Hair Day at Ms 4’s school. It’s a fundraising event the school has been doing to support Camp Quality since 2005. The kids get to be wacky and silly with their hair. It’s spiky hair do for boys, and crazy hair do for girls (ribbons, braids, feathers, coloring  and so on). Older kids get to wear pajamas to school if they choose to. Everybody brings a gold coin for the day in addition to some change they have placed on the school’s Money Snake*.

Ms 4 is always excited for this day. I don’t think she understands the whole point yet (she only has done it twice so far), but she’s really into the crazy hair do. I had to wake up earlier so that I could have extra time working on her hair, 7 long braids in total. It was so much fun watching all the kids running around laughing and giggling with their special crazy hair/spiky hair around the school. I hope we succeed in raising a lot of money for the Camp Quality today.

A bit info on Camp Quality:
Camp Quality is a non-profit organisation that is committed to bringing optimism and happiness to the lives of children and families affected by cancer through fun therapy. They believe laughter is the best medicine.

*The kids placed money on the Money Snake to keep it growing everyday. The total amount collected each day was written on the ground next to the snake so we are all aware of the progress of this slithering snake going outside each class.
