Ever since Instagram I started seeing the world in squares. And no. This is not an Instagram photo. It’s my own editing of an old and tired log of wood they use as safety poles at school. It’s a fun shot.
The lonesome bike was pleading with the sky gods to hold the storm just a little bit longer.
When I looked at this photo again on my iPhone hours after taking it, the first thing came right on my mind was rubber bracelets. Funny, because I knew they were hula hoops that were lying on the grass at Ms.3’s school. But my mind can’t help but associating them with something that look similar in shape, despite the knowledge.
When I took a closer look in my computer then it became a bit more definite what they were just by the size of them in relation to their surrounding. In this case, those little clovers on the ground. Small clovers, big hoops, there’s no doubt in our mind what they were.
This is something that I have to always remember. Sometimes I want to emphasize how big or small something is but didn’t really execute the shoot very well that the ‘message’ is lost.
