Day 151 #Project365

151-365 dusk

The time when the sun rises and sets have to be the most appealing time to photograph. The light being so low at both dawn and dusk makes everything looks a bit more dramatic.  Being NOT a morning person in a major way, I don’t get to see a lot of sun rises. On the rare occasion that I did wake up early enough I was always so amazed at how beautiful everything was in the morning, and always promised myself that I would get up earlier more often. Ah, the many empty promises I gave myself. I still have sunsets, though, and I intend to catch and enjoy every one of them. To the max.

Day 120 #Project365

120-365

Today was the last day of school holiday in Canberra. It’s a typical Sunday in the suburb. We drove around a nearby suburb looking for a fast food restaurant for a quick take-away. Too tired to cook, and couldn’t be bothered with more nutritious choice. Good thing I bothered to look up to see this sunset sky, otherwise we will suffer another book cover pattern shot.

I was just looking at other people’s 365 photos on wordpress and I came across yours. I lived in Canberra for 8 months last year and I missed it so much as soon as I saw your photo. There were the most brilliant sunsets there. Wow, I miss it. Thank you for this.ReplyCancel

Thanks a lot Cassie! I love it when people just “stumbled” on my post and liking it. Sunset scene is one of my fave shot to take, so I have a couple of those in here (invitation to look around my blog is officially extended). I agree with you sunset in Canberra can be quite magical..ReplyCancel

Day 95 #Project365

95-365 rear view reflection

I had a lot of fun taking photos for today’s post, even though it started late. Late afternoon. It seemed that I only needed to look up and snapped away, because that’s where the ‘action’ was today.  I took this one on our way back home, even before I knew how pretty the color of the sky around my house was. I wanted to see whether I could manage to capture the sunset behind me along with its lovely hues.

The real fun was at home when I just pointed my iPhone at the lovely coloured sky. It was challenging to capture just the clouds without any traces of the suburb underneath. There were street lamps, the roofs of the houses, my neighbour’s chimney, or some crooked looking branches that all attempted to ruin my shots. Manmade world against Project 365, really. But I got a couple that I like, I might just use them in Instagram later.

Why I ended up posting this photo up, instead of the others, well, I’m not sure myself. Maybe I’m too much of a sunset junkie, or again, can’t stay away from another type of reflection. Or maybe both.

Day 89 #Project365

89-365 sunset

A mad dash just before dinner brought me to this corner. My kids were playing outside as the sun was about to set that’s how I noticed the beautiful color in the sky. Well, only a glimpse of it, because the houses across the street were completely blocking the view. So I grabbed the car keys and driving westward just to find a bit of field/empty space so I could see my orange clouds properly.

One suburb down they I found this corner. The water reflecting the clouds and trees above was actually a big puddle. It’s not the lake, but it was indeed quite large puddle from the rain yesterday. It was a bit dark already but still enough light for my iPhone to catch the beautiful orangey glow.

Day 77 #Project365

77-365 fiery sky

When the sky was this color, nothing else needed to be done, but being grateful that I was out at the right time and the right place. No post editing.

Enjoy your weekend!

I’m so glad you captured this photo! I was driving at the time that it lit up like this and could really only see it in my side mirror. Wanted to pull over and snap! Thanks for sharing 🙂ReplyCancel

No problem! I’m glad you like it. I was lucky to be there at the right time too. I walked over to the other side just to get a better angle, but the sun was setting too fast..ReplyCancel
