It’s easier to shoot pretty stuff than not. The challenge is to make the image of not so pretty stuff interesting.
Today I said goodbye to my scale. Yes, for years I have been using this simple, non digital, red plastic scale. We have been together since Bangkok, which was 10 years ago. It might look ordinary but we have created wonderful things together my scale and I. All the yummy desserts, all the birthday cakes, Black Forests, tons of cupcakes and more!
It is time to say good bye. The newly bought digital(!) scale is here. It looks more like a flying saucer than anything else. It looks so clean and polished, gleaming against the kitchen light. We will see whether it can perform as well as my old one. Let’s hope it is not just another pretty face.
Back to the photo, yes this was not the sexiest thing I have in the kitchen, and I was struggling to get a perfect light to make it look slightly presentable but for a long time it was the most valuable thing I had. It looked all scratched and battered now but it has never failed to do its job. Bye old red!
At least you’ve moved towards the new technology ;p
I’m still stuck with something like your red scale, only it’s white 🙂
I say as long as it does the job it does not really matters whether it is from the newest type or not. My old one only had maximum of 1 kg(!) which totally didn’t do it for me. Good luck and enjoy your old white!
