Portrait Project – 50/52

50

This portrait was taken from my last photo gig of this year. I was lucky with this client because she was so lovely and a joy to work with. Her smile came so naturally and look at those beautiful eyes, she made my job so easy. A perfect project to end 2014.

Mother and Son. This beautiful capture of this lovely mom and her boy was taken when we were all hanging out having coffee together, sitting outside and enjoying the spring weather. For some reason I had my camera with me, though armed only with the 50mm lens, which I haven’t used for a long time, and I kinda missed. You just  never know when a good light suddenly hits you, or great tender moment like this happens. They come so random. I’m glad I had my camera that day.

This week’s portrait is a semi throwback edition. It’s a new look of an old image that I love.

Portrait Project – 23/52

My precious hearts.

I ‘asked’ these three to drop everything and to stay together in one spot for an impromptu after dinner photo shoot. I just remember I don’t have a picture of them together, and I would like to have one. One good one.

Well, dog had nothing in particular that he had to do, so that was kinda interesting how bored he looked, couldn’t tell what his problem was. My kids, on the other hand, was a different matter. There were loads of fun things to do especially when you had no homework – it’s fallow week this week (yay!)- so to sit still, even for 5 minutes was apparently too hard. It was like trying to stop the Energizer Bunnies from buzzing when there was no on/off button insight.

In the end, this is the image that I love most from the bunch. My precious three.

Note: No dog dies of boredom during or after the photo session. The undeserving dog even had a treat as a reward for his patience during the whole ordeal. He was extraordinarily more expressive and lively then.

Portrait Project – 21/52

21-1

“If he thought at all, but I don’t believe he ever thought, it was that he and his shadow, when brought near each other, would join like drops of water, and when they did not he was appalled. He tried to stick it on with soap from the bathroom, but that also failed.” Peter Pan by James M Barrie

I could not help but thinking of Peter Pan and his shadow while watching Ms. 6 (and her shadow) twirling around, jumping and dancing one fine afternoon after school. It was like watching two little girls dancing from where I sat. There was no music. She was just happy and had a lot of energy to burn. She felt so much joy she probably thought she would burst if she didn’t do anything about it. It’s how she rolls, and isn’t that just so wonderful to watch.
